With rapid growth of our business developments in China, Morgan Stanley Bank International China Ltd. (MSBIC) Beijing (BJ) Branch is currently looking for an experienced professional to join their China Compliance team at Manager / Director level.
Based in Beijing and reporting to the Head of Compliance for MSBIC, this role will be responsible for these core responsibilities:
- Advisory. Advise MSBIC management and BJ Branch employees on internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Regulatory interaction. Manage the relationships with CBRC and PBOC in BJ, ensuring that communications with the regulators are open and constructive.
- Regulatory inspection. Coordinate the regulatory on-site inspection for BJ Branch.
- Industry contacts. Work on communications with industry participants to ensure appropriateness and consistency.
- New business initiatives. Review new business initiatives in BJ Branch from regulator, best practice and Firm perspective.
- Compliance reviews and monitoring. Assist the Head of Compliance for MSBIC to identify risk areas or conduct independent compliance reviews for BJ Branch.
- Compliance projects. Assist in specific projects, or represent Compliance in various MSBIC initiatives.
Skills Required
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements.
- At least 5 years of corporate or commercial banking branch compliance experience with a leading financial institution with substantial business presence in China necessary.
- Good working relationships with regulators such as CBRC and PBOC highly advantageous.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Mandarin.
- Attention to detail.
- Effective client servicing and inter-personal skills required.
- Candidates with more experience will be considered at Director level.
