Compliance Consultant – European Distribution (Fluent German) recruitment

Opportunity
To support the agenda of the MG Retail Business by providing high quality and cost effective legal advice in reviewing and negotiating various contracts with third parties. The role will cover distribution activities in the UK and Europe.

Key responsibilities

Working within a team of four others, the key areas of responsibility will include:

*Reviewing and negotiating with third parties: distribution agreements, terms of business, trade mark licences, confidentiality agreements and other contracts required to undertake business, focusing on providing support to the German Sales Channel in particular
*Liaising with external law firms to understand and maintain knowledge of local regulatory requirements and support on client agreements where needed
*Supporting the other members of the team with day to day queries including project support as needed

You will also work with and support the other members of the MG Retail Compliance team.

What we are looking for

Ideally the candidate should have experience in a similar role within a legal or compliance function.

Essential Skills
*Legal qualification or Legal experience at a law firm or in-house role supporting distribution activities
*Experience in reviewing and negotiating legal agreements including global distribution agreements and terms of business
*Fluency in German
*Enthusiasm and strong communications skills are required for this role along with an exceptional level of attention to detail and analytical skills
*A strong character with the ability to challenge
*The ability to manage and prioritise your own workload and meet deadlines whilst working within a very busy team is essential
*The ability to analyse and interpret rules and published guidance from the regulator and other relevant bodies is important

Desirable Skills

*Experience in cross border distribution including fund and country registrations
*Fluency in other European languages, an advantage
*Understanding and experience of asset management and distribution of UCITS funds
*Knowledge of German asset management market and German UCITS funds documentation
