Compliance Control Officer

Our client requires a Compliance Control Officer for their London Branch - specialising in Corporate Banking - Banking and FX payments (forwards/options) - European wide, which falls under the MiFID regulatory obligations. The incumbent is in charge of Business Continuity Management for the UK Branch, including testing and reporting to senior management, has oversight of end to end UK Options process identifying any breakdown in controls and correction to processes following control or process failure (MiFID task) and is responsible for the escalation of any breaches or breakdown of controls (MiFID task). Performs daily control checks completed for accounting processes, is point of contact for accounting teams and liaises between the respective bank account cash management teams if a breakdown occurs.

The successful candidate will also have oversight of AML and CFT screening.

Role Details:

* Business Continuity Management for the UK Branch, including testing and reporting to senior management,
* Oversight of end to end UK Options process identifying any breakdown in controls and correction to processes following control or process failure (MiFID task)
* Responsible for the escalation of any breaches or breakdown of controls (MiFID task).
* Daily control checks completed for accounting processes.
* Point of contact for accounting teams and liaises between the respective bank account cash management teams if a breakdown occurs.
* System set up of new clients
* Oversight of the accreditation process and as a control check that all documentation has been completed in regards to Customer Due Diligence and MiFID (suitability check).
* Oversight of AML monitoring, CFT screening and AML/CFT training process being the decision maker for UK branch.
* Perform / ensure legal watch in order to anticipate new regulations and regulatory requirements
* Updating Policies Procedures
* Recommend ongoing process improvements to streamline and create efficiencies, complete medium and low recommendations and embed into the business.
* Perform MiFID training for sales staff.

Skill Set Required:

* Fluent speaking and writing in English
* Strong written and verbal communications skills, including formal presentation skills
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills
* Accuracy and attention to detail in daily routine
* Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and preferably MSAccess
* Well developed interpersonal skills in a team oriented environment
* Ability to work in a changing environment with multiple priorities
* Banking experience
* Experience in Financial Instruments requirements (MiFID)
* Experience in Compliance and Anti money laundering issues
