Duties and responsibilities to include:
Compliance and Regulatory:
- Manage and maintain the Compliance Monitoring Programme
- Maintain knowledge of relevant FSA regulatory requirements, developments and advise the business of changes as required
- Manage the development and/or improvement of policies and procedures and processes to ensure they continue to support the business in complying with regulatory requirements
- Maintain and monitor Compliance timetable to ensure reporting and submission deadlines are met
- Manage the firm’s relationship with regulatory bodies and external advisors
- Undertake regulatory processes and reporting as required
- Identify compliance training needs and monitor staff completion of such
- Identify new regulatory requirements and develop compliant solutions with the business
- Produce required FSA returns and reporting
- Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly reporting
Finance:
- Assisting Management Accounting at Fund and Management Company Level
- Prepare, assist and minute monthly Management Meetings covering Finance and Compliance.
- Assist the production of monthly management accounts and presenting the key issues to the business
- Audit Tax reporting
- Liaison and oversight of external auditors
- Maintenance of accounting records, procedures and controls
- Involvement in year-end process and audit work
- Budgeting and Analysis of Company PL
Skills and Experience:
- Significant FSA focused compliance experience
- Accounting experience gained either on the fund accounting or management/company accounting side (accounting qualification a plus but not essential)
- Educated to degree level
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Computer packages (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Process driven and a quick learner - constantly reviewing for areas of improvement
- Excellent people skills and ability to work with people at all levels and influence others
