Compliance / Legal / ODD specialist
A growing equity long/short hedge fund with strong and stable seed backer and good start-up performance is now looking to take on general counsel / head of compliance to assist the fund through its first major external asset raising drive. They are looking for someone with experience of guiding hedge funds though complex due diligence processes with institutional investors. This will be a qualified fund lawyer or hedge fund head of compliance that can work with the COO and assist with the more technical and control aspects of the ODD process to allow the COO to focus more on sales and marketing for the fund. It represents a great opportunity for a commercial legal and compliance specialist to take on a technical role where you will also have commercial responsibility of playing a key role in securing a number of large investments that are showing interest but need to get through ODD processes.
Additionally you will take responsibility for guiding the fund through AIFMD requirements over the coming months. The bulk of the work is being outsourced to one of the top compliance consultancies but you will take on the responsibility for managing the process.
The management of the project to get the fund fully AIFMD compliant is expected to last 3 months and in this time there will be a number of investors conducting operational due diligence visits on the fund. They are therefore looking to take someone on for an initial 3 month fixed term project with the view to it leading to a permanent role in the New Year should the assets grow as expected.
