Compliance Manager Job in Basildon, Home Counties UK

Compliance Manager is required for our International clients based in Essex. Your role will be to ensure that the business is aware of up-coming and complies with existing Card Scheme rules and mandates, liaising with appropriate colleagues to support any required changes at merchant or business level.     Be a reference point and offer training and coaching support to the Sales Team as necessary to ensure that the risk aspect of merchant recruitment is understood and that applications are of high quality in order to speed boarding and increase likelihood of sanction.  Review and maintain FDMS Credit Policy and liaise with company risk in respect of periodic updates. Maintain and service sales quotes from the Risk Manager portfolio ensuring an appropriate and statistical approach is taken to new and existing risks within the portfolio and striking a practical balance between risk and reward. Maintain the FDMS Retailer Agreement Ts Cs, reviewing and amending as necessary after liaising with  Risk. This will include drafting, amending or re-writing contracts for certain merchant segments or assisting with larger merchant contracts. Support sales where merchant contract changes require negotiation. Be the subject matter expert and FDMS liaison point regarding industry regulatory matters, particularly in respect of Anti-Money Laundering and recommend practical and risk based processes that optimise efficiency without breaching guidelines, seeking both internal and external advice when necessary. Chair the monthly Risk Committee and review Risk and Operational reports on a monthly basis and monitor trends in credit, fraud and operational losses, ensuring that performance is maintained by the respected shared services. Also, ensure that all key reports including the Credit Watch List, Write-offs, Potential Loss reports and Post Mortems are reviewed and intervene when appropriate.Can

Candidate Requirements : 

*     Sound banking background, preferably ACIB qualified

*     Knowledge of merchant acquiring risk assessment techniques including practical exposure calculation and standard 'lending’ techniques

*     Experience and time spend in a merchant acquiring compliance environment with hands-on decision taking in respect of AML/FCP

*     Knowledge of the various Card Scheme compliance programmes and mitigation techniques

*     Experience in reviewing merchant content and material that could be offensive and upsetting in order to ensure merchant compliance to Scheme rules

*     Good knowledge of merchant contract standard terms and conditions and how these can be amended to suit particular sectors and or larger merchants
