Compliance Manager – Oil recruitment
We are a global Commodities Trading house based in Central London. Due to continued growth we are looking for a Compliance Manager to set up and manage our Compliance function.
Key Job Responsibilities:
• Ensures compliance with all relevant financial regulators, exchanges and EU Directives;
• Set up and maintain all Compliance Processes ensuring current controls framework meets regulatory and exchange standards;
• Responsible for establishing a compliance and procedures manual and ensuring this is kept up-to-date
• Advising the business on the type of business activities that are in or out of scope, per current/future regulatory status;
• Promoting a strong and robust compliance culture within the organization with the aid of regular compliance training for the front, mid and back office;
• Carry out any monthly, quarterly or ah-hoc compliance reporting, internally and externally;
• Prepare and deliver annual compliance presentation to the Board of Directors; ensure they are aware of their responsibilities;
• Devise and coordinate the BCP arrangements and documentation; test and update as required;
Experience Skills:
• Successful candidate would be from an Energy Trading background with a minimum of 6-8 years in Compliance; they would also hold a Business or Law based first degree and ideally a professional based qualification.
• Teamwork Skills – ability to work with others to accomplish group goals and implement process changes. Demonstrated teamwork inside and outside immediate area of responsibility
• Communication Skills – initiates communications within the team to learn and share knowledge and follows up to ensure message is received. Ability to communicate well with front, mid and back office personnel as well as Senior levels of management. Listens attentively, seeks to understand others viewpoints, and tests for understanding.
• Organization Skills –ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience with managing daily/monthly/quarterly duties with on-going projects and communicating the status of assignments.
• Analytical / Reporting Skills – ability to analyze large volumes of transactions and instruments for compliance reporting purposes;
• Industry Knowledge – good working knowledge of the energy trading and supply business from the front-to-mid-to-back office best practices. Excellent working knowledge of FSA EMP Handbook Regime, ICE Membership Rules and EU regulations and legislation; FSMA 2000 RAO 2001)
• Developmental Skills – ability to develop oneself and others, to develop and evolve the Compliance environment, processes and reports.
