Compliance Officer – Brussels recruitment
A Compliance Officer is sought by my client, a Fortune 500 business based in Brussels.
This is a broad and varied compliance role, reporting directly to the Head of Compliance for EMEA. The candidate will operate in an autonomous manner and will be involved in all day-to-day compliance matters in a hands-on and proactive manner.
The compliance officer will:
- Proactively identify operational and financial Risks and propose adequate and efficient controls to mitigate practices;
- Maintain the local compliance strategy and promote within the team;
- Optimise the business processes and operations through continuous Improvement,
- Ensure full alignment with management create strong business partnerships between all stakeholders
- Act as the Single Point of Contact for compliance and audit matters
- Keep abreast of key regulatory and legislative changes which may impact the business and determine with the legal department the necessary course of action
The successful compliance officer will have:
- Minimum 3 years post graduate experience, of which 2 years in a 'Big 4' company
- Experience of leading Sarbanes-Oxley compliance efforts
- Experience of accessing internal controls and communicating findings to a range of stakeholders;
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Be proactive and demonstrate the ability to look and perform outside the box;
- Travel within the EMEA region up to 25%
- Fluency in English and either French or Dutch is required.
