Role Overview

The role will primarily focus on Compliance activities for Merrill Lynch International Bank Limited ("MLIB") based in Central Park in Dublin. MLIB's two principal lines of business include global markets and global wealth and investment management. MLIB is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland and has nine branches in Europe, Asia and Canada and subsidiaries in the UK and Switzerland.

Job Description

Assist in the delivery of the Bank of America Global Compliance Programme within Ireland

Policies and Procedures

· Maintain Compliance AML related policies and procedures, required for local regulatory requirements, with regular updating and communication of changes to staff

· Participate in the review of Enterprise and Line of Business policies and advise on any potential conflict with Irish law or regulation

Controls and Supervision

Maintain a record of outstanding compliance issues with deadlines and responsibility for resolution.

Regulatory Oversight

· Participate in the maintenance of an inventory of applicable country specific rules relating to Compliance and AML

· Assist in reviewing and assessing new and proposed changes in Central Bank of Ireland regulatory and EU regulatory codes. Devising new procedures/policies for these new codes as required.

· Assist in the communication with the regulatory relations team, and the Local Management Team as appropriate.

Monitoring

· Participate in updating and completing the local compliance monitoring programme.

Training and Awareness

· Ensure local compliance requirements are identified and addressed.

· Support the delivery of enterprise-wide as well as local training and new associate on boarding

· Foster ongoing and open communication with country management, associates and division compliance associates.

Reporting

· Assist in the regular internal reporting of legal entity and country activity in accordance with agreed timescales and formats.

Commitment and Accountability

Participate, as required, in internal investigations and ensure they are appropriately addressed

Requirements

Specific Skills or Competencies

Required:

· Educated to degree level of equivalent

· Experience of having worked in an International Banking Environment

· Prior experience of working within a compliance function

· ACOI Qualification (desirable)

· Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
