THE ROLES:

The business is regulated by the FSA and as the organisation grows, the regulatory environment it operates within is becoming ever more complex. Consequently, it seeks to appoint a small number of experienced, high quality Compliance Officers to promote and further strengthen the culture of compliance, design new policies and procedures and provide compliance advice across the business.

Responsibilities are wide ranging and include:

-Supporting financial crime/market conduct programs

-Providing face-to-face compliance training

-Approving new business initiatives

-Policy development

-Assessing and implementing forthcoming UK and EU legislation

-Performing an ambassadorial role for the compliance department when dealing with all levels of staff across the organisation, including the senior management of the firm

-Demonstrating the vision and ability to contribute meaningfully to defining the compliance strategy and compliance department infrastructure

-Working as part of project management teams to help implement new processes, products and systems across a number of asset  classes

-Developing and implementing transaction surveillance and monitoring systems from first principles, having regard to applicable market conduct and financial crime scenarios

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

We are interested in hearing from two different types of individual:

1.Those with regulatory experience within an energy trading environment, with sound technical knowledge of FSA and, ideally, wholesale energy market regulation

Or

2.Individuals not necessarily coming from energy trading, but with significant experience of anti bribery / corruption / ethics compliance programmes either gained in financial services, or an industrial company
