Compliance & Partnership Accounting Manager (10 month Contract)

I am currently working with a highly regarded, west end law firm to recruit a 10 month fixed term contract position. They are looking to appoint a qualified accountant to take on the role of Compliance and Partnership Accounting Manager. This is an important role in the firm taking in to account recent changes in the regulatory landscape across the legal sector. The firm has created an excellent professional environment where business support functions and highly integrated with the fee-earners and partners.

The Finance Director will give this person full day to day responsibility for managing all aspects of financial compliance and assisting with the partner accounts. You will therefore be responsible for ensuring the firm is aware of any further regulatory changes.

Some of the key responsibilities falling under this position include:

· Ensuring all accounting records are SRA compliant
· Assisting the COFA and COLP
· Ensure the firms payments and expenses are compliant with anti-bribery policy
· Implement internal controls and audits
· Preparation and payment of all tax relating to partners
· Setting up and maintaining partner drawings and accounts
· Managing National Insurance payments for partners

With this position being a 10 month fixed term contract, the firm are looking for someone who can hit the ground running, therefore it will require up to date knowledge of solicitors account rules and partnership tax. You will need to hold a recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and be able to show recent experience gained in the legal sector. Away from technical skills, I am looking for someone who pays attention to detail, can effectively build relationships with partners and explain complex technical issues to those who don't have prior knowledge.
