Summary

My client is a leading financial services organisation looking for a Project Manager to join group legal and compliance
You will have a track record working within banking and capital markets and experience managing and delivering complex programs within the core team.

Role:

To be responsible for the overall management control and delivery of Business and IT projects with a value of £3 - £10 million.

Accountable for creating project deliverables that meet or exceed the expectations of the project stakeholders. This includes managing changes to the size or scope of those deliverables.
Directs, manages and co-ordinates team members, including those from suppliers and external vendors.

Project / Programme Delivery 85%

• Exercise overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the Programme/Project to plan, budget and agreed quality and governance standards

• Provide day to day direction to the project team and manage a budget of £3 - £10 million.

• Work with the Technology Partner/Programme Manager to deliver effective communications and manage relationships with key stakeholders at executive and direct reports' levels across the Project Client base and technical community, ensuring continued buy-in to the Project

• Own and drive the Project planning framework, ensuring that plans are developed and tracked to appropriate standards, are integrated effectively across all work-streams, are unambiguous and achievable, and that dependencies are clearly understood and managed

• Own and drive the effective governance of the Project, via the Project Management Office, ensuring that Bank technical, risk and other standards and compliance requirements are met and that the Project governance framework is comprehensively defined and firmly embedded across all areas of the Project

• Manage and co-ordinate projects, their interdependencies, and associated risks and issues, escalating to the technology partner/programme manager as appropriate to ensure project delivery

• Control the project scope, ensuring that rigorous change control is exercised

• Ensure the integrity of the project - focusing inwardly on the internal consistency of the Project

• Identify interfaces / alignment with other technology and business initiatives including

• Programme/projects, business as usual and specialist technical or service standards

• Resource planning

• Handover management

• Best practice approach to development and implementation of production change

• Provide ongoing monitoring of the Project to confirm that delivery meets the Project's objectives and continues to make effective use of available funds and resources

Team Management and Staff Development (10 %)

• Acts as focal point for direct reports with regard to HR and work issues

• Oversee and authorise the payment of certain agency staff that may, from time to time, be employed

• Provide leadership and coaching to ensure that all staff are aligned to the goals and culture of our client

• Discharge of the group's HR policies (e.g. performance development, equality diversity, disciplinary grievance)

• Demonstrate total commitment to the personal and professional development of all members of programme/project teams

Technical skills:

• Deep understanding of Project/Programme Management principles

• Deep understanding of PMO principles, processes and procedures

• Skilled in the use of the Project/Programme Management software tools

• Skilled in the use of office software tools, including spreadsheets, presentation tools and word processing

Knowledge:

• Deep knowledge of project/programme Management systems and processes, procedures and tools

• Previous experience of delivery in other change roles e.g. Project Management, Business Change

Experience Essential:

• Track record of delivering high-quality deliverables

• Experience working in a fast paced project environment

• Experience in managing projects across multiple business lines

• Experience of running projects/programmes for large-scale business change projects/programmes

• Senior Stakeholder engagement and management

Experience Preferred:

• Financial services industry experience

• PRINCE II Practitioner Level

• MSP Practitioner Level

• Knowledge of financial and administrative processes
