Specialised Component Rebuilder – Earth Moving
We are seeking a highly experienced Component Rebuilder for our clients workshop based in Guildford. This specialized role requires a candidate that has at least 3 years experience as component rebuilder.
The work will involve several main task which include.
Inspection
The first task will be to carry out an inspection of the component which may require some strip down and inspection. You will assess the component and write a report on parts needed and estimated man hours to complete the rebuild.
You will have a good knowledge of parts and be able to indentify parts without too much reference to manuals. You also have the experience to estimate the hours required for the rebuild as well as how many staff should be assigned to the particular job.
Once the report has been forwarded to the procurement division you will assess the overall cost of the rebuild and make a decision to proceed with the rebuild or pass the component onto a reman centre.
Rebuild
Once you get started on the rebuild you will be doing a full strip down and then rebuild. You may have sent parts off for metal spraying and machining as well as receiving new parts for the job.
You will have the skills to carry out the rebuild efficiently and within your budget, making sure the component will run as desired.
Lead Hand
Some jobs will require supervision for trade staff seconded from the general HD Fitting workshop to assist in the larger rebuilds. You will be able to direct staff in a professional manner as well as provide technical advice and training to fellow staff members.

Most of the rebuilds will be components from Mining Equipment and will be
- Final Drives
- Transmissions
- Wheel Ends
- Pumps
- Diffs
The equipment the components are used in is
- Off hwy dump trucks up to 250 tonne,
- Loaders up to 500 kilo watt,
- Excavators up to 400 tonne,
- Dozers up to D11 size
- Water carts
- Graders
Remuneration
As this is a very specialised role we are prepared to pay top rates for the right candidate. You will initially be on a casual rate with the intention to go on permanent after 3 months. Based on a flat hourly rate and depending on experience. $41.54 or $45.10.
