COMPOSITES ENGINEER
I am attaching the composite engineer job description we discussed. We
are primarily looking for a manufacturing engineer with composite
experience. If the candidate has hands on experience for an aerospace manufacturer instead of a degree they would be ok too. This is not a sit behind the desk job - we need someone who is hands-on and can learn from our veteran mfg engineer. The pay would be based on experience but around 65-70k/annually to start.
Required Qualifications
5-8 years aerospace design/development experience in mechanical assemblies, high-value added components or lightweight mechanical or pre-preg composite products, through the full product life cycle from design through production
o Design/manufacturing for aircraft primary or secondary structure, interiors, or similar applications, with both solid laminate and honeycomb construction
o manufacturing processes, tooling and tool design
5+ years CAD Design/Drawings
Experience with multiple composite manufacturing and tooling methods
Hands-on composite manufacturing experience
PREFERRED CANDIDATES
3+ years design/drawing experience with Catia v5 and/or Solidworks
5+ years design experience with one of the following product types: acoustical treatments; ECS systems; or low pressure ducting / transfer components
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university
Military product qualification or civilian certification test experience
Experience in preparing QTP's and other quality documentation
JOB DESCRIPTION/ DUTIES:
Draft technical proposals for product specification, qualification tests, materials specifications, and trade studies.
Prepare detailed product designs for aircraft components including structural composites, ducting, elastomerics, bonded assys, and mechanical assys
Evaluate customer technical specifications and drawings to determine process or product applicability and reproducibility; determines the appropriate methods for fabricating and bonding materials.
Create detailed bills of materials, routers and special manufacturing instructions.
Prepare detailed parts cost estimates for labor, materials, tooling requirements, test specification and material selections for existing business and new business inquiries.
