Computational Research Development Engineer (Lancaster, PA)

This position involves all aspects of planning and managing engineering projects from preparation of proposals/quotes, performing analyses to support research project requirements, to delivery of finished products. This is a team oriented environment working with other engineers and technicians to design, fabricate and test thermal hardware.

 

The job duties include:  (1) program management (2) developing computational tools/codes to perform mechanical and thermal simulations; (3) working with technicians and production personnel to perform experiments to validate the simulations. This position will report to a lead engineer or engineering manager.

 

Minimum requirements include: (1) M.S. or Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical, Chemical or Aerospace Engineering; (2) Strong computational background in performing simulations such as Lattice Boltzmann Method, Boltzmann Transport Equation or Phase Field Methods; (3) Additional experience in molecular dynamics simulations or Ab-initio methods are needed (4) Good programming skills are essential; and (5) excellent verbal and written skills.
