Computer Controls Systems Engineer Job ID: 2011-15568 # of Positions: 1 Internal Title: Computer Controls Systems Engineer Position Type: Regular Full Time Category: Information Technology Location: US-SC-Blythewood Travel: None Overview: The Computer Controls Systems Engineer will have the following responsibilities and duties: * Electrical engineer with a strong background in PLC s, Frequency Drives, Robots, Machine Vision and networking in a high speed production environment. * Controls engineer will be involved in activities to ensure that manufacturing, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and requirements to improve safety, quality and efficiency. * PC and networking support on the shop floor. * The day to day support and optimization of manufacturing processes including troubleshooting, programming and hardware design. * Provide technical expertise and support with manufacturing technicians. * Work with quality and process engineers to improve quality and efficiency. * Ability to think outside the box * Familiar with start-ups * Desire to do whatever it takes Position Purpose and Requirements: Takes responsibility for the physical delivery and ongoing support of products/services, applications, controls systems and overall solutions. Performs systems software upgrades, PLC and CNC setups and configurations. Maintains software and hardware inventories. Provides technical expertise in the management of a public and/or private network. Install, supports and/or maintains industrial networks (ProfiBus). Performs technical analyses of software, hardware and transmission facilities using various diagnostic tools in support of efficient operations. Monitors controller performance to ensure high-quality operations. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction. Basic Requirements: * Bachelor s or Master s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Technology * 4 years experience Industrial Automation Additional Requirements: * Experience with Machine Vision, Marking Welding Lasers, Torque Drivers and Gauging a plus * Minimum 2 years of experience in PLC s, Frequency Drives and Robots in a production environment Desired Skills: * Prefer Siemens PLC and CNC background * Prefer Fanuc Robot Programming and Maintenance * Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server a plus * PC and networking knowledge * At least 2 years experience in high speed manufacturing facility (Automotive Preferred) Visit us at www.Navistar.com to discover more about our organization.
