Specific Job Description Contingent position based upon winning the task order. Proposed start date 27 April 2012. The ADP Support Technician installs and configures application software for classified and unclassified desktop and laptop computer systems including peripheral equipment. Plans, coordinates, provides operational maintenance for software loading and upgrades for office applications and Windows 2000/2003/XP, SUN Solaris?, UNIX, and LINUX or later software. Also determines cost effective equipment techniques and sources used in support of PC computers (Windows 2000/2003/XP, SUN Solaris?, UNIX, and LINUX or later based computer platforms). Analyzes and isolates classified and unclassified computer hardware problems. Installs, tests, modifies, upgrades, and trouble shoots classified and unclassified computers and peripherals connected in a networking environment. Assists in establishing standard configuration environment files for the different multi-vendor computer platforms networked together. Provides support for building users and during joint experimentation and joint training events. Standard Job Description Sets up and tests a variety of systems and hardware components prior to field deployment and provides personal computer repair and test capability for all company departments. Analyzes failed equipment according to established methods or procedures and determine whether equipment is repairable in-house or must be returned to the vendor for repair. Performs standard repairs and tests of components or equipment that can be repaired in-house. Tests incoming repaired items from vendor to ensure that repairs were properly done. Performs preventive and on-demand maintenance on a variety of personal computer equipment.
