Specific Job Description The Computer Network Technician: ?Supports the CSA by ? Performing all IT management functions (equipment management, user security, software inventory, GFE inventory, and user inventory, among others) for Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) computer equipment and software IAW applicable instructions ? Coordinating maintenance and repairs for government maintained, contract maintained or warrantee IT items ? Resolving software and hardware conflicts with all aspects of the academic training program ? Performing debugging of new database or CBT interoperability ? Staying current with new hardware/software development and advises the PO / QAR whether platform upgrades are beneficial; researching and submitting budget proposals for intranets, LANs, VPNs, Lockheed Martin computers, 173 rd OG computers, LRC computers, courseware development computers, classroom computers, and briefing room computers including software and associated hardware ? Remaining current with all operations of the academic IT system to reduce downtime ? Supporting installation of approved web pages on host government computer network. ? Assists the CSA in managing the Learning Center by: ? Loading and maintaining the most current/applicable CBIT lessons, tests and other Inter-active Courseware (ICW) functions on PO/QAR designated computer workstations etc. ? Assists with the design, implementation, setup, and repair of applicable intranets, Local Area Networks (LAN), Virtual Private Networks (VPN), servers, workstations and stand-alone computers, all associated hardware, and all associated software ? Manages, trouble-shoots, repairs, and upgrades GFE software and hardware as directed by the SSM. ? Ensures databases servers are managed and backed-up ? Assists with the design and implementation of databases and support database software, upgrade database software, trouble-shoot database problems/conflicts, and correct database problems/conflicts. ? Evaluates applicable Information Technology Work Center training equipment performance and identify discrepancies trends to the Computer System Analyst ? Assists with applicable software scripting, SQL database scripting, create batch files, and hex edit ? Modifies applicable initialization, configuration, registry, and system files ? Performs Information Technology Work Center?s Help Desk functions for applicable Lockheed Martin Site functional work centers, students, and 173 rd OG personnel ? Issues applicable users with login and password for LRCs ? Assists Lockheed Martin instructors and 173rd FW instructors with setup of applicable classroom and briefing room computers for presentations ? Identifies equipment requiring maintenance beyond the scope of minor in-house repairs to the CSA ? Administers tests and Computer Based Training (CBT) to students, retrieve and analyze test results for trends, and capture student critique data ? Functions as a CSA for Training Management System ? Assists with applicable development, implementation, and auditing of compliance procedures for the control and security administration of all applicable computing systems within the instructional environments ? Assists with applicable security analyses of new information processing technologies, systems, and configurations as directed by the SSM ? Assists with applicable reviewing, evaluating, coordinating, and making recommendations on all Information Technology Work Center?s certification and accreditation submissions as directed by the SSM ?
