Broad Function and Objective
· Provide computer-based support for thick-client, thin-client and web based software applications.
· Execute system analysis and scheduled job checklists.
· Perform and monitor AS400, Windows, and Linux system restarts and backups.
· Monitor processes during operations, commissioning, and new software release deployment.
· Monitor Data warehouse ETL processes. Troubleshooting may include restarting of servers, database connections, performing documented procedures and restarting scheduled jobs.
· Provide help desk call support
· Analyze software problems and gather data for feedback to developers.
· Execute deployment plans; execute installation and test procedures; document test and deployment results; and support identification, prioritization, tracking, communication, and retesting of control system defects discovered during deployment testing.
· Provide feedback to software developers, DBAs, and infrastructure staff regarding appropriateness and accuracy of software, installation, documentation, and procedures; suggest improvements for subsequent deployments.
· Acquire detailed understanding of the structure, operation and deployment plans for the suite of software applications; supporting the setup, analysis, deployment, maintenance and upgrades.
· Maintain a close interface with the various programmatic and project elements to ensure effective teamwork and end-user communication.
· Support formal testing and commissioning activities, including updating documentation and procedures for various hardware devices.
· Perform, test, document and analyze security changes in JD Edwards, OBIEE, SQL Server, Web, and any other application in the suite.
