Computer Programmer I / Software Developer Job in Suffolk 22435, Virginia Us

This position is located in our VA, Suffolk facility

Independently develops, modifies, and maintains complex programs that produce several interrelated but different products. Tests, documents, and writes operating instructions for all work. Perform programming analysis such as investigating the feasibility of developing alternate programs, assisting users in defining needs, or participating on an engineering change proposal (ECP) and user team working on large and complicated programs.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide electronic Records Management system and application development and integration.
2. Analyze existing software applications for integration efforts.
3. Design software architectures.
4. Coordinate software development, testing, deployment, and implementation.
5. Define product development timelines.
6. Lead the resolution of systems and applications integration issues.
7. Troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
8. Assist junior computer programmers on the team in the maintenance of systems and resolution of issues.
9. Act as subject matter expert for technical integration and implementation discussions.
10. Coordinate and conduct demonstrations on electronic the organization's Records Management systems.
11. Provide user training for custom-built applications.
12. Monitor Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs).
13. Research and load software updates.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following or related academic fields: Information Systems Management; Computer Systems Analysis; Operations Research/System Analysis

- 5-8 years of related software development experience.
- Two (2) years experience in programming skills in at least two (2) of the following computer languages: C, C++, FORTRAN, ADA, SIMSCRIPT II.5, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Access, ORACLE, JAVA.
- Two (2) years .NET Programming Experience
- Experience providing database and analytical support to military organizations
- Two (2) years of experience working with Records Management applications, such as:
a. LiveLink
b. Documentum
- Familiarity with Joint Investment Database (JIDB), Joint Knowledge Online (JKO) and other portal applications, such as Microsoft SharePoint

Preferred Certifications:
1. A+, Security+, or Network+
2. ASP.Net 3.54.0 or other programming language
