Job Description:
KLA-Tencor has an opening in our Ebeam division, for a Computer Systems Engineer. The e-Beam division designs and manufactures Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) wafer inspection and review equipment.  The Ebeam market is expected to have strong growth in the next few years, complementing and supplementing optical wafer inspection.  The Ebeam division currently has about 80 engineers, split about evenly between hardware and software.  There are two product lines, with one product line optimized for wafer inspection (fast defect finding) and the other optimized for ultra-high resolution defect review.  Each product’s life cycle is about 2 years from early development to completion of beta at customer sites.

The Computer Systems Engineer will work in high performance computing. Responsibilities include: select architectures and technologies, system and OS configuration, HW/FW/SW interface design, software framework development and performance tuning.

Qualifications/Education Desired:
1) Experiences in HPC applications, big data, parallel processing clusters. Strong data modeling skills.
2) The candidate should have strong experiences with configuring and tuning Linux and Windows server clusters.
3) Strong Linux OS configuration experiences.
4) Programming: Java/C/C++/Python/other common s
5) Linux kernel/driver development experiences a plus.
6) Recent computer architecture knowledge with Intel based servers.
7) Experiences in high performance network technologies such as InfiniBand, 10 GB Ethernet.
8) High performance storage experiences, RAID, iSCSI or VSA, a plus.
9) Heavy read/write operations using structured storage and parallel processing technologies such as NoSQL, Hadoop a plus.
10) Database experiences preferred.
11) Some travel may be required.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Level Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with at least 5 years of experience.
Or
Master's Level Degree with at least 4 years of experience.
Or
Doctorate (Academic) with at least 3 years of experience.
