We are currently seeking a talented, motivated, and experienced CONCESSIONS MANAGER to oversee our food service operations at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex in Greensboro, NC. The complex features a flexible capacity arena that can accommodate concerts and events for 4,000 to 23,000 fans; a 2,376 seat auditorium for Broadway theatre and concerts; and a 120,000 square foot Special Events Center for trade and consumer shows and 20,000 square feet of space for meetings of all sizes. The Special Events Center also features a 4,300 seat theater set-up for concerts and sporting events.
The Concessions Manager will be responsible for the effective management and running of venue concession operations including event planning support, scheduling, food preparation and production, inventory, cash control, compliance with alcohol service polices, safety, guest service, employee/volunteer training and supervision. The Concession Manager must provide a high level of event oversight, technical proficiency and operational/personnel support to ensure the smooth running of any assigned event. A critical function of the Concessions Manager will be to actively mentor, train and help employees meet company quality standards, and to promote a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
The idea candidate will have the following qualifications and abilities:
- Bachelor of Arts / Science in Food Service Management, Hospitality Management, or related major OR a minimum of 3 years of management experience in food service;
- A proven track record of developing effective management teams by providing clear direction, demonstrating leadership and evaluating performance in order to make recommendations for improvement;
- Strong proficiency in computer applications including MS Office, point-of-sale systems, time and attendance systems;
- Ability to communicate with employees, vendors, client representatives and guests in a positive and professional manner;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision;
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, decision-making and interpersonal skills;
- Must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work a variable event-driven schedule which to evenings and weekends;
- Specialized training or certification in food service sanitation is a plus!
