Role Summary/Purpose
The incumbent of this role is responsible for providing application solutions to the business community and management of multiple projects. The business systems analyst will interface with business leaders, GE Treasury IT, third party vendors, offshore teams, as well as various members of the GE Corporate team to provide solutions and subject matter expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Fixed Income
  • IR FX Derivative
  • Cash Operations

    Essential Responsibilities

  • Translate Business requests into detailed functional specifications and use cases
  • Lead discussions with development and business teams regarding implementation and design of business processes
  • Design Application solutions to fulfill business requirements
  • Coordinate teams of offshore consultants in development and support projects
  • Conduct test of completed work prior to user acceptance testing phase
  • Participate on teams for vendor package implementations ongoing support and maintenance
  • Use project management methodology to monitor timelines, prioritize and execute assigned portfolio of projects
  • Adhere to the requirements and guidelines of the Treasury System Development Life Cycle in designing and implementing solutions
  • Ensure compliance to, and participate in enhancing documented IT standards
  • Provide leadership to the business in data quality analysis
  • Provide ad hoc support and advocacy to business subject specialists
  • Application support with a heavy emphasis on problem identification, diagnosis and resolution
  • Identify major areas of systems improvement and drive results

    Qualifications/Requirements
    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or 4 years related work experience)
  • Minimum 3 years of previous experience in Capital markets, transaction/finance operations or related field
  • Must be able to satisfy the requirements of section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act

    Desired Characteristics
    Applicants should be able to demonstrate experience in the following:

  • Understanding of Debt capital markets and/ or Interest Rate Derivatives and/or FX markets and FX Derivatives
  • Working knowledge of financial industry, instruments and market processes
  • Experience in working with Treasury Management systems or other trading back office applications
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and to identify and resolve project issues quickly and effectively
  • Strong cross-functional team player - demonstrated success coordinating application changes through a diverse, geographically dispersed team structure, including team members, global development contractors (both onshore and offshore),consultants and vendors
  • IT Controllership – Knowledge of IT controllership methodologies and standards and demonstrated experience though project execution compliant with systems development life cycle methodology

    Desired:

  • Prior experience of Wallstreet Suite or similar applications such as Summit, Murex and Calypso is highly desirable
  • Broad knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, processes and controls.
  • Demonstrate accountability execution fulfillment
  • Change Agent with ability to drive compliance, protocols, standardization.
  • Strong business acumen successful track record in aligning with customers
  • Strong organizational skills – ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication, and leadership skills with the ability to quickly build credibility, influence and make recommendations at various organizational levels
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Change Acceleration – Knowledge of CAP tools and demonstrated use of change acceleration in across new processes and controls
  • Familiar with agile framework Business Process Management methodologies
  • Enthusiasm for taking responsibility and a passion for knowledge is highly desirable
  • Self-motivated individual who is goal orientated, able to work with minimal supervision and a key contributor to the team
