Configuration Manager – McLean, VA
Essential Job Functions
- Full Scope Polygraph Required
- Develops and maintains account/region standards and procedures to ensure that configuration management controls are capable of supporting deployment activities and implementations to meet business needs.
- Manages configuration management activities and evaluates tools as defined for the account, and applies them to project activities. Develops configuration management plans, milestones and schedules for projects.
- Evaluates existing system configurations and recommends infrastructure changes to improve or enhance performance and maintainability.
- Participates in design and change reviews to enforce and ensure adherence to configuration procedures.
- Selects and hires employees. Trains and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product. Addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions. Motivates and rewards employees including providing salary increases, bonuses and promotions within allocated budgets and company guidelines.
- Prepares and recommends operating and personnel budgets for approval. Monitors spending for adherence to budget, recommends variances as necessary.
- Participates in prototype reviews and development of policies and procedures. Recommends and implements new procedures as appropriate.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, management information systems, or related field preferred
- Nine or more years of configuration analysis experience
- Five or more years of leadership experience included
- Experience working with distributed computer systems, software and associated communication networks
- Experience working with networking principles and local area networks
- Experience working with company software and hardware products

- Good skills in configuring and installing various operating systems and application software
- Good communication skills to interact with team members, customers, and support personnel
- Good analytical and problem solving skills to resolve technological problems
- Good leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
