Configuration Specialist Job in Minnetonka, Minnesota US
Summary:
The Configuration Implementation Specialist is a full-time, exempt position with the main responsibility of configuring and testing the proprietary VIAM System based on analysis documents of client requirements. Configuring involves using graphical user interface tools to customize the application interface to fix a system defect or update the system per change orders. Configuration includes analyzing and documenting client application requirements, implementing workflow processes, configuration of software, creation of forms and support.
Primary Position Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Interact with new and existing clients to understand and document client workflow as required during the implementation process.
2. Configure VI Applicant Manager software for all client implementations.
3. Reviews analysis documents prepared by the Systems Analyst and configures (using graphic user interface tools) the VIAM System to fix a system defect or complete a client request/change. Completes high level testing to ensure no major defects are in the configuration.
4. Analyzes issues/defects and debugs the system when configuration is not producing expected results. Researches issues to determine if source of error is with the test data, test plan, or configuration.
5. Resolves issues and re-tests configuration. Escalates issues as appropriate.
6. Work with Project Management to understand the scope of client implementations and assist with implementation planning.
7. Coordinate with Client Set Up, insuring all forms and details are documented and all processes are followed.
8. Work with product development during scheduled releases of new software.
9. Assist as needed in training clients on their implementation.
10. Assist the Software Help Desk in trouble shooting client problems.
11. Develop documentation for applications and processes.
12. Participate in departmental and general staff meetings.
13. Keep confidential all applicant, client, and Verifications, Inc. proprietary information.
14. Provide input for improvements in software and product functionality.
15. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Associates degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Science, or Management Information Systems, or related field or equivalent work experience required.
· Basic knowledge and experience with HTML, XML, CSS.
· XSLT knowledge preferred but not required.
· Self-motivated; independent worker.
· Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities.
· Organized with strong attention to detail.
Knowledge Experience
· Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) principles/concepts.
· Interpret and understand conditional statements (i.e., If/Then/Else).
· Apply basic relational database concepts (e.g., table relationships, keys).
· Knowledge of and ability to write basic SQL queries.
· Troubleshoot basic system defects and errors.
· Ability to interpret and understand typical client requirements documentation.
· Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
· Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
