Cons Prod Strat Analyst III - Loss Forecasting Analytics for Consumer Card and Small Business

Responsible for performing more complex analysis and modeling for multiple products with the goal of maximizing profits and asset growth and minimizing risk and operating losses and/or other financial and marketing exposures. Develops complex program models to extract data and uses multiple databases to acquire statistical and financial data. Utilizes portfolio trends to propose policy/procedural changes within segmentation structure to produce optimal results. Excels at risk/reward trade off. Build relationships with external agencies. Participates in the rollout of company-wide pilot programs developed as a result of programmed models. Duties primarily include the regular use of discretion, independent judgment, the ability to communicate with multiple levels of management and the utilization of core leadership behaviors. SAS an//or MicroStrategy experience preferred; 2-5 years experience preferred. This position entails managing multiple projects and conducting analyses in support of the Loss Forecasting function for the Consumer Card and Small Business portfolios. The primary function of this position will be to conduct relevant forecasting, analytics, reporting, and project management support with respect to the broader team's recurring forecasting responsibilities. This includes leveraging historical portfolio trends combined with macro economic variables to produce regular loss forecast submissions under varying economic assumptions. This position will have direct forecasting ownership for several of the Small Business and Consumer Lending portfolios and provide needed secondary support in relation to build-out of analytics and reporting for Consumer Card. Two other key areas of emphasis include refining current methodologies used for bankruptcy prediction, partnering with the CIG team to expand and enhance diagnostics to provide greater insight into forecast over forecast trends to Senior Management, and enabling an approach for CIG's account level loss forecasts to be integrated into Credit Strategy impact analysis. The loss forecasting analyst position requires being able to utilize sophisticated database analysis tools for data identification, preparation, collection and extraction for the purpose of trend identification and detailed analysis that illustrates key Collections performance metrics as it relates to delinquency and loss performance. In addition, one will be responsible for presenting their results to senior management across Loss Forecasting, CIG, Collections, Risk Strategies, Finance, and Governance Control.
