The Appomattox River Soil and Water Conservation District
-is soliciting applications from
qualified individuals who can fill the role of Conservation Specialist. The successful candidate will serve under the direction of the District Board. The Conservation Specialist will provide technical assistance to agricultural and urban conservation programs, support watershed initiatives and assist with youth and adult education programs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The successful candidate should have a basic knowledge of agricultural
enterprises and conservation practices. The ability to communicate effectively is essential, both oral and written.
Basic computer skills are essential for the successful conduct of this position.

Education and Experience:
A combination of education and work experience in the conservation field is essential. A bachelors degree in
agricultural, environmental or
related studies or equivalent
experience is required.

Salary Range:
$30,000 - $35,000 plus benefits
