Consolidation Accountant Job | London - £400 per day
Hays Senior Finance is currently engaged by a Central Government client, for two Consolidation Accountants on an interim basis for four months. The role has principally come around due to the previous incumbents moving on, and overall there will be a focus upon a permanent appointment, once the interim period has finished.
Candidates must be qualified accountants with previous consolidation experience, in any government entity inclusive of Local Authorities and Central Government. The ideal candidate will have a strong blend of Financial and Management Accountant skills, with the right personality to engage with stakeholders throughout. The client will be looking for candidates with an acute analytical nature alongside business insight reasoning.
Key Skills Required
1. Working as part of the team to deliver assigned components of the annual work plan, which will include a range of account production and analytical review activities, preparation and review of journals and delivery of training.
2. Maintaining and developing the counter-party elimination or analytical review process, owning the strategy for delivery for each publication, including responsibility for setting standards and ensuring consistency.
3. Developing and delivering communication strategies for the preparer community and for all other stakeholders as appropriate to promote improvements.
4. Preparing and maintaining plans that take account of future changes to government financial reporting policy that may affect the content. This includes managing stakeholder relationships.
5. Producing and maintaining the detailed work plan for publication. The plan will include key milestones and the detailed daily deliverables for the preparation of the account, linking all aspects of delivery.
