Horizon Oil Sands
Horizon Oil Sands is an exciting part of our growth.  Full production capacity for Phase 1 is 110,000 bbl/d of fully upgraded, light, sweet synthetic crude oil.  We will see incremental production gains throughout the completion of future expansion and debottlenecking, with targeted full facility capacity of approximately 250,000 bbl/d.  Further phases of expansion will bring the ultimate capacity to 500,000 bbl/d.

This position is based in Fort McMurray, Alberta and is eligible for:
* Relocation to Calgary or Fort McMurray
* Company Sponsored Fly In/Fly Out and Camp Accommodation Program with charter flights available from Calgary or Edmonton

Position Summary

THE OPPORTUNITY: 
The Construction Coordinator will be the focal point in the coordination between Operations and Contractors for the specified discipline during Horizon Oil Sands plant expansion construction phases leading to on time / on budget project completion.
* Contribute to quality and safety efforts keeping lost time injuries to an absolute minimum, in compliance with Canadian Natural and Industry standards

Positions available for expertise in the following areas:
    
o Mechanical
     o Piping
     o Turnovers
     o Civil/ Structural

HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK?
Contribute your hands on construction management experience to the successful construction of the plant expansion through the following activities:
* Participate in the preparation of work scopes for requests for proposals (RFP)
* Participate in bid reviews and area constructability reviews as required
* Review contractor Construction Execution Plans, work scopes, schedules and manpower loading
* Review contractor QC programs and Inspection and Test Plans
* Assist with interface coordination between other Business Unit area coordinators and Site Contractors
* Monitor contractor safety compliance
* Monitor and coordinate contractor work completion schedules
* Monitor construction compliance to Canadian Natural site specific and OHS procedures
* Verify construction progress and scope changes to the Construction Manager, Project Manager and Project Controls
* Audit contractor punch-list items for system turnovers

QUALIFICATIONS:
* 8+ years experience as a Construction Supervisor/Construction Coordinator or in Project Management
* Experience working in a Northern environment and/or a refinery preferred
* Pipeline or static equipment and vessel experience required 
* A Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of post secondary education and related experience
