Project: Parsons has been awarded a contract to provide management, engineering and construction services for their hydroelectric generation capital improvement program (CIP). Under this contract, Parsons is providing program management services and miscellaneous professional project services to support our client, which includes yearly improvement projects entailing value engineering related to energy conservation and sustainability alternatives to increase productivity and reduce impacts on the environment. Need: Under general supervision, performs a variety of field engineering assignments by applying standard engineering techniques and analyses. This Construction Engineer Specialist at this level has prior experience and is expected to complete assignments with increasing proficiency. Willingness to relocate to construction site locations is expected. Track all project costs for project managers. Research labor, contract, expended, committed costs and explain these costs to project manager and help to determine forecast cost at completion and any variances resulting from these costs. Report costs to project manager weekly and for projects approaching authorization limit report daily. Run cost tracking report and cost project cost detail reports. Update cost, safety, risk and status sections of Engineering and Construction Database with project managers for each project weekly. Close out of completed projects in PEC Database and SAP utilizing project checklists. Request and coordinate opening and closing WBS in Parsons accounting system. Develop and maintain file structure and upload project files into Job Package Files on Share Point for use by project stakeholders. Monitor AJE and JE approval routing and approval status for project managers. Work with Program Management Office chedulers/Controls group to provide cost reports for reporting Earned Value. Assist Project Managers with compiling Scoping documents, AJE's and JE's. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. Qualifications Job Requirements: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business Management, Accounting or related field with a minimum of 2 years previous experience in cost engineering or accounting is preferred. Demonstrated working knowledge of database entry and reports. Proficiency with multiple computer programs including Microsoft Office Suite and accounting programs. Must be able to multitask in a fast paced environment and interface with project and client team members. Ability to work one weekend per month during the 9/2012 to 3/2012 time period and stay in PGE provided housing.
