Specific Job Description Lockheed Martin is pursuing new business that would provide Project and Construction Managers to support US Government missions worldwide. The Project/Construction Manager may assist the Government and other contractors through the design and bidding process including development of construction documents and specifications and solicitation for and evaluation of bids. Projects will range in size from small renovations to large, ground-up construction efforts. This position will require deployments worldwide (i.e. Conflict areas and developing countries) to support a project through completion. The duration of deployment will depend on the project being supported and may last from several weeks to several months to complete. Experience working with construction trades in developing nations would be very beneficial. Candidates could support from a US residence near a major metropolitan airport. Typical work can include: ? Coordinating with consultants, contractors, site customers, and headquarters component end-users for the comprehensive design, construction planning, facilities related activities, and logistic support at the project site. ? Managing project execution, overseeing subcontractors, monitoring workmanship quality, coordinating with local customer representatives, and ensuring on-time/on-budget delivery. ? Reviewing shop drawings, checking submittal, conducting site visits for quality assurance, processing design modification and field changes, and validating invoices for partial payments. Prepares architectural, engineering, and cost estimates, functional studies, construction plans, specifications, and schedules. Obtains and supervises outside contractors. Recommends architectural and engineering design procedures and standards for the planning and design of facilities. Supervises the detailed design, budgetary costing, standardized construction, and final inspection of facility projects. Conducts construction surveillance to ensure adherence to contractual requirements. Provides engineering consulting services to local and divisional offices.
