We are seeking individuals with between 2 and 6 years external audit experience in a Big 4 or leading national firm. You will have either commenced or completed your CA or equivalent qualification and have had exposure to Mining/Resources or Retail clients. You will present with outstanding communication skills, a proven track record in developing effective client relationships and a motivation to achieve.
Key responsibilities include:
- External audit and statutory reporting for large proprietary and listed organizations
- Exposure to or training in overseas accounting regimes such as US and UKGAAP and IFRS
- Preparation and review of financial statements ;
- Analysis and documentation of internal controls and control environments
- Experience in risk based audit methodology
- All aspects of audit and statutory reporting
- Researching and advice to clients on issues faced in relation to reporting
- Day to day management of clients
- Address client requests for assistance on a timely basis
- Manage and supervise junior staff
- Keep the manager informed of progress on the engagement and be alert to potential problem areas or budget difficulties.
- Assistance to the managers in budgeting and billing
- Involvement in training junior staff on audit related matters
Key skills and experience required:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications;
- Completed or studying towards CA qualification; we will consider CPA and overseas equivalent
- Possess solid technical knowledge and understanding of accounting standards gained in a professional services environment;
- An ability to establish and maintain excellent client relations whilst demonstrating an understanding on commercial issues facing business;
- Strong time management skills and well developed research and problem solving skills;
- A 'can do' attitude whose enthusiasm and energy is welcomed as part of the team;
- A resourceful and flexible approach with high professional standards;
- Experience in supervising staff and an evidenced ability to manage others;
- An ability to identify potential sales or value add opportunities.
