Overview:

Thomson Reuters, a leading provider of information and technology solutions to the global financial community, is seeking a Consultant for its Investment Management Analytical Services team that that will provide specialized product support to our most valuable IM customers.

IM Consultants are a key and valuable link between our services, Sales, and our customers. Combining a thorough understanding of finance and content, with expertise in our software, Consultants assist certain clients in their every need, including streamline the research and analysis process, locating the correct teams to provide product and content support, training, assistance with product administration, advocating for the client, and expediting all client requests. We will offer an unparalleled level of service along with insight into the intricacies and functionality of Thomson Reuters Investment Management applications.

As part of the IM Analytical Support Team, you'll join a team that is committed to industry-leading, "white glove" service. The team will be comprised of individuals that have vast experience in the IM industry, exceed at customer support, are self-motivated, and enjoy the challenge of real responsibility in working with our most sophisticated and knowledgeable users. IM Consultants will work closely with GSCS (e.g. Sales and Customer Support).

Responsibilities:

The IM Consultant is a member of the IM Analytical Services team, which provides support directly to a select set of IM's most important clients. Queries are typically for advanced analytical products and content, but can consist of account-related requests as well. Consultants serve as the client advocate in assisting in their every need, including expediting any client service needs.

Respond quickly and effectively to requests for assistance directly from the client or potentially from the frontline or other teams across TR.

Act as a liaison between Service, Sales, and the client, and advocate for all of the client's needs.

Work directly with customers to provide additional information, updates, and resolution to issues escalated from the frontline teams.

Maintain a high level of knowledge on the product or markets supported.

Build and maintain relationships with other resolver groups across the organization to ensure appropriate resolutions are provided timely.

Take ownership of escalated issues and manage product/service outages.

Analyze various reports to look for opportunities to improve client experience and drive client satisfaction.

Travel to clients locally (about 20% of the time), as needed.

Assist in pre-sales activities by working with Sales in securing potential new clients and users.

Skills

Education:

BA/BS degree- Finance, Business or Economics major or equivalent work experience. CFA candidates, MBA and other advanced degree holders are preferred.

Required Skills:

NOTE: We are recruiting 3 Consultants, one of which must be a fluent French speaker; for the other 2 Consultants, spoken French is a desired skill.

Consultants are the buffer between the client and product management groups (both Data and Application). They must be able to talk to client intelligently and use their critical reason skills to identify the problem and solution quickly. Very effective communication skills are required.

Analytical skills should be demonstrated by past academic achievements (e.g. undergraduate GPA in key classes and past teaching assistant/research assistant experience). We are looking for proven quick learners (self motivation) and logical reasoning skills.

Must demonstrate knowledge in typical investment management workflow, typical industry content and products, and market/industry knowledge.

Internal candidates must have at least 5 years experience supporting products relevant to Investment Management. Past experience (3-5 years) in the financial industry in the area of financial data, Investment Banking or Investment Management (Institutional) preferred. External candidates should offer 5+ years experience in the financial industry working with financial data, Investment Banking or Investment Management (e.g. Junior Banker, Analyst Program, Junior Portfolio Manager, etc). Preference will be given to CFA Level II candidates, MBA and other advanced degrees.

Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills are required to manage outstanding issues until resolution.

Analytical, organized, detail oriented, and disciplined.

Desired Skills:

Fluent in French; MBA degree; CFA level II candidates or higher; Past industry experience in investment banking and/or instituational investment management (ex. analysts, junior bankers or junior portfolio managers); Strong financial-markets and economic field knowledge; Excellent customer service experience and focus; Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written; Excellent problem-solving skills; Complete mastery of using the Internet as a research tool; Strong knowledge in a wide-array of Thomson Reuters products and content; Ability to work under pressure.
