What Inventory Mgmt contributes to Cardinal Health
Inventory Management is accountable for the design and execution of demand planning and customer forecasting systems; supply planning, product deployment and expediting processes; and the development and implementation of a stocking optimization model to minimize costs and inventory while delivering on service requirements.

- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of universally accepted inventory management concepts and applicable SOPs
- Independently analyzes customer demand, interprets trends and initiates needed changes
- Creates, approves and implements SOPs
- Applies theories to optimize forecasting, purchasing and inventory systems
- Uses data mining and analysis tools
- Recommends and implements solutions to optimize inventory investment and maximize customer satisfaction

Accountabilities in this role
- Manage the supply disruption and allocation management process for the Specialty business
- Work closely with the other Inventory Management teams as well as the Sourcing and Specialty Sales teams to align specialty product portfolio supply with customer demand
- Track and monitor potential slow move inventory
- Work closely with a cross function team to develop and implement the exit strategy for slow move inventory
- Execute source switch requests
- Analyze usage submitted for new customer implementations, make recommendations for any changes and load holdouts, adjust forecasts, request off cycle buys, etc.
- Track and report forecasted new sales vs. actual to improve new customer forecasting accuracy
- Responsible for meeting service level and DIOH targets
- Create and maintain SOP's
- Relay critical information for customer communications
- Perform other activities and duties as determined by the Supervisor, Inventory Management - Specialty
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years experience
- Proficient in Microsoft office, with strong Access and Excel skills
- Previous supply chain experience
- Previous experience using data warehouse inventory management systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
