POSITION OVERVIEW:
Analytics client consultants act as trusted advisor to our clients; it is via this platform that consultants take responsibility and ownership of the client relationship. Consultants are rewarded by client satisfaction that results in a high retention rate, opportunities to grow the relationship, a strong impact in the pre sales process as a product expert and most importantly as an industry expert that clients rely upon to get the most value out of the our products and services.
Consultants cover a suite of Barra and RiskMetrics analytics products and services, advising clients on developing risk management practices, explaining complex analytics, recommending modeling best practices and partnering with the sales team to provide expertise in client engagements.
The analytics client consultant banking team is responsible for our European-wide banking clients including major broker-dealers, central banks and prime brokers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage strategically important clients
- Regular client interaction; discussing complex topics, and help clients solve problems
- Provide best practices guidance to clients on the best usage of our services and maximizing value
- Partner with the sales team in pre-sales engagements as a product expert to show the value added by our products and services
- Responsible for a small team of consultants managing relationships with analytics clients in the banking space. Responsibilities of consultants include:
- Retention management of the renewal book
- Identifying up-sales opportunities
- Adding value during the pre-sales stage – by acting as a product and industry expert
- Closely manage the renewal book and report client retention metrics to management
- Act as an escalation point for consultants in the team
- Formulate client retention and up-selling strategy and deployment of consultant resources for the team
- Formulate client engagement and client interaction strategy; monitor both quantitatively and qualitatively
- Promote thought leadership among the MSCI community by conducting knowledge sharing sessions both internally and externally- roundtables, speaking at conferences, workshops, webinars
- Represent the voice of the banking client community internally to improve our offerings and processes and improve client experience
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong knowledge of capital markets and quantitative finance, equities, fixed income, credit, commodity products and derivatives, including pricing models, simulation-based risk analysis, and stress testing
- Strong knowledge of sell side risk and credit management
- Masters in quantitative finance related degree strongly preferred or MBA in finance
- CFA, FRM or related certifications a plus
- Innovative, client orientated thinker able to identify and exploit market niche opportunities
- Management experience is required for this role. The ideal candidate will have managed teams of functional and technical experts who are client facing
- Results oriented, and able to set measurable goals and objectives
- Manage by numbers: ability to use metrics to devise strategy and action plans
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent presentation skills and the ability to clearly communicate complex ideas
- Ability to work in teams and collaborate with other cross-functional teams
- Act as a thought leader in the banking space both internally and externally
