Consultant Relations Analyst

Position Description

As a member of Morgan Stanley Investment Management's Consultant Relations Team, the individual will support the consultant relations process of attaining ratings and driving new business. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and deadline-driven, as part of the job will entail responding to consultant requests and completing consultant databases/questionnaires by stated deadlines. Additionally, the individual should possess strong communication and analytical skills, as responsibilities will include working with team members and senior management in preparing business plans, sales reporting, and product analysis. The position offers significant area for professional growth and development.

Responsibilities Include:

• Support external consultant relations officers by acting as their internal liaison and source of firm-wide and strategy-level information
• Respond to consultant inquiries, including requests for data (ie. performance, holdings, etc), search reports, and other ad hoc requests
• Participate in the quarterly and ad hoc consultant reporting process:
o Complete consultant questionnaires by aggregating and synthesizing qualitative and quantitative information from a variety of internal data sources
o Maintain consultant databases by liaising with various internal groups (Investment teams, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Compliance, etc) to ensure accuracy and integrity of strategy profiles
• Conduct competitive analysis on MSIM strategies relative to peers using tools such as eVestment Alliance, Callan PEP and Mercer MPA Insight, and research search and win trends using iiSearches and findaily
• Maintain team pipeline information in firm CRM systems and prepare consultant activity reports for senior management, and consultant briefing memos for internal meeting participants
• Liaise with the RFP team, ensuring consultant RFP deadlines and requirements are met
• Develop relationships with investment teams over time and build an expertise on MSIM strategies and vehicles

Skills Required

• Bachelor's degree, 0-5 years of industry experience
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
• High degree of professionalism, organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work well under pressure while managing multiple responsibilities
• Commitment to a team-oriented environment and a willingness to openly share ideas
• Demonstrated success in taking initiative and delivering immediate and independent action to solve business problems
• Ability to attain Series 7 license within time
