Consultant SW User Interface Engineer
Interaction Designer EMC is looking for an Interaction Designer to join the User Experience team within EMC Global Services. In this position you will be working closely with business stakeholders, product owners, prototyping function, and IT engineers to define the user experience of EMC?s next generation online experience. Responsibilities: * Identify user interface requirements and user experience strategy * Generate user personas and use scenarios for different segments * Conduct heuristic evaluations on existing products * Set conceptual design and suggest product direction based on field research and functional requirements * Define the interaction model and workflows * Work with visual designers to refine the interactive experience and produce designs * Develop mockups, and HTML wire frames to visually demonstrate experience * Work closely with prototyping team to come up with high fidelity prototypes that represent the interaction model required to ensure user success * Work with usability engineers to design, observe, and analyze usability studies * Develop User Interface Specifications and Guidelines * Work closely with engineers to implement and deliver the final product * Facilitate project communication across a multidisciplinary team throughout all phases of the project Qualifications: * 8+ years of experience designing user interfaces * Bachelors degree (Master's preferred) in relevant field such as Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, or Computer Science. * Excellent time-management, multi-tasking, strong communication skills; and the ability to quickly prioritize tasks * Ability to develop new approaches to complex design problems and convey these designs in the form of presentations, mockups, and design specifications * Must communicate clearly and effectively; strong analytical and oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills; a self-starter that is able to collaborate actively with others in a cross-functional team * Experience designing web based applications is required. Experience designing online support site is a huge plus * Experience designing using web 2.0 concepts and RIA?s is desirable
