Role Description:
We are looking for highly motivated and talented individuals for permanent employment within Baringa’s European Markets Trading business. The Consultant / Senior Consultant role provides considerable challenge, variety and opportunity for development in a client-facing environment. Through the role the candidate will have the opportunity to work with clients across in Energy, Commodity, and Capital Market trading environments to help them develop and improve the effectiveness of their business.
Our roles are performed at the client’s place of business, and will require you to be honest, flexible, adaptable and passionate about their business
Specific roles will vary and typically include significant elements of business analysis, operating model innovation, process design and systems delivery
You will typically be working in collaboration with client and/or Baringa team members, and will be required to be able to plan and execute your own work with minimal supervision
You will have the desire to develop our dynamic company, grow our business and help to maintain our culture
Skills Experience:
Industry experience and/or a working knowledge in one or more of the following are essential:
- Energy Trading (gas, power, oil, coal, and/or carbon markets)
- Commodity Trading (metals, agricultural products and/or freight trading)
- Capital Markets (equity, debt, fixed income markets)
- Industry leading systems (e.g. Triplepoint, Brady, Eka, Allegro, Openlink, Murex, Calypso, Summit, Amphora, Aspect, SunGard, Veson, etc.)
We expect a high degree of competency, and recruit both from a consulting and trading industry environment. Preferred requirements include:
Strong academic performance in a degree at graduate or undergraduate level
- Evidence of professional business process / IT consulting experience and/or industry experience, in roles that demonstrate the ability to deliver operational / technical solutions in challenging, client-facing environments
- Professional and team management experience, according to level, in roles that demonstrate the ability to take ownership and deliver results in challenging, client-facing environments
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially those demonstrated through business process analysis or IT systems delivery
Consulting Experience – demonstrable experience with the following initiatives:
- Business or IT change – across Front /Middle/Back Office and Operations
- Business and/or technical analysis
- Process re-engineering and transformation
- Systems Implementation – ideally exposure to the full project lifecycle
