The Unique Opportunity.
Due to continuing company success, Frost Sullivan is seeking to appoint an experienced senior level Consulting professional to lead the Consulting function within the Business Financial Services (BFS) practice. The BFS practice is dedicated to providing its international client base within the investment and banking community, with global market intelligence and bespoke consulting solutions. BFS offer expertise and advisory services (supporting clients through specific transactions, initiatives or opportunities) typically within the compressed timeframes of competitive MA or IPO processes.
The Consulting Director will take ownership for developing, managing and delivering strategic consulting engagements across a variety of industry sectors across the European region. The focus will be to take the lead in bespoke consulting projects, ensuring the integrity of strategic tactical recommendations whilst acting within the context of a ‘fee earning’ partnership model (with the role holding a significant revenue delivery target). Although the position places emphasis on consulting project delivery, there is potential future career opportunity to take ownership of managing the entire BFS consulting team/function.
Key Responsibilities:
• Project Leadership - Manage project teams and ensure the delivery/execution of major strategic consulting engagements from initial scoping discussions to completion. Confidently present and communicate project outcomes at C-level.
• Service delivery – Drive commercial due diligence for Financial Sponsor/Private Equity transactions. Conduct independent research and provide commercial advisory support for IPO/capital markets offerings. Opportunity/idea generation, thesis validation and transactional analysis for investment management. Provide clients analysis services for private equity assets investment
• Business Development - Proactively develop/nurture client relationships, conducting detailed business needs analysis and demonstrate expert industry knowledge. Write project proposals and ensure that a client’s strategic intent translates into a Frost Sullivan consulting solution.
• Intellectual Property and Strategic Evaluation - Develop powerful, actionable strategic recommendations and market intellectual property based on a profound understanding of the Client’s business/industry. Interpret key data, provide considered business insight and presenting accurate results at a senior level.
• Team Management – Develop, grow and manage the human capital base within the BFS consulting practice. Developing/implement consulting best practice/process and contribute towards Frost Sullivan’s future consulting deliverables. In addition collaborate with / manage Frost Sullivan industry and geographical teams on specific assignments.
• Domain Expertise – Act as an industry expert and advisory function.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience.
The successful candidate will be a senior consulting professional with a thorough understanding of strategic consulting methodologies with proven success of direct client interaction and custom research/consulting project fulfilment. A pro-active, methodical and innovative working practice is essential, with the ability to deliver accurate, high impact results in a fast paced, business consulting environment. The Consulting Director will utilise an extremely professional and inspirational leadership style, with proven success of managing/motivating a team of consultants to achieve specific business/consulting project objectives.
Essential:
- Previous senior level consulting experience within a Consulting and/or Advisory services business environment.
- A thorough understanding of consulting/research methodologies and business modelling (primary/secondary research, strategy development/implementation and consulting best practices/process).
- Transactional experience, ideally in commercial due diligence or advisory services.
- Ability to forge/maintain key client relationships and effectively manage strategic business partnerships. (developing bespoke consulting proposal documents, project manage and present key consulting deliverables).
- Advanced ability to develop strong business relationships, collaborate with the sales function and establish continued client business.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the Financial Services/investment and banking community (including an appreciation of the industry structure, operational practice, business functionalities and competitive landscape).
- Able to conduct detailed business needs analysis and appropriate/close the relevant consulting solution.
- High level of business acumen with the ability to conduct detailed business needs analysis and appropriate/close the relevant consulting solution.
- Strong project and virtual team management skills.
- A degree level education or equivalent experience.
Willingness to roll up one’s sleeves and act as part of a boutique consulting delivery team.
Desirable:
- Team management experience. Previous success of nurturing, inspiring and leading a diverse team of consulting/research professionals within an advisory services organisation.
- A relevant post graduate qualification (MA, MBA) or équivalent experience.
- Frost Sullivan prides itself on its multi-national teams; therefore the command of a second European language would be advantageous.
