Chemist / Contact Technician

We are searching for a contact technician on an open ended opportunity with a leading biotechnology company in Orangeburg, SC 29116

Hours: Flexible: Sat 7am-7pm, Sun 7am-7pm, Mon 11am-7pm, Tue 11am-7pm or Mon thru Fri 7pm-3am


This is a wonderful opportunity at a state of the art facility. We are looking for a Chemist or a Contact technician with a Bachelors or Associates degree in chemistry or any science discipline with recent professional experience (2-3 years) in the below techniques

Candidates will be working in a quality control laboratory analyzing raw materials, in-process samples, and final product for specialty chemical manufacturer (including pharmaceutical). Wide array of testing and instruments including the following:

  • Atomic Absorption Spectrometer

  • Automatic titrating systems

  • Hunter Calorimeter

  • Flash Point Apparatus

  • 30GCs

  • GC headspace auto samplers

  • 16 HPLCs

  • GC/MS

  • Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometer

  • Microwave digestions system

  • Fourier transform’ infrared spectrometer

  • Karl Fisher Titrators

  • Halogen Moisture Analyzer

  • Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrometer

  • Conductivity Meter

  • Total Organic Carbon Analyzer

  • Turbidity Meter

  • Ultra-Violet/Visible Spectrophotometer

  • X-Ray Fluorescense Spectrometer

  • Brookfield viscometer

  • Horiba Particle Size Analyzer

  • Optimelt Melt Point Analyzer

    • The selected candidate will be responsible for completing daily checklists covering various calibrations and check standards. S/he will be Responsible for using LIMS system to login samples and perform the required testing promptly.

    Candidates must be able to Pipet 10ml. of water from one tube to another using one volumetric pipet.
