Amazon is looking for a Process Manager (m/f) for our Fulfillment Center (FC) in Graben bei Augsburg .
The Process Manager (m/f) supports, coordinates and facilitates structured process improvement activities aligned to our business goals. This role reports to the FC ACES Process Engineer (Amazon Customer Excellence System), working closely with the EU ACES team as well as all levels of management within the FC.
As an integral part of FC operations the Process Manager focuses on 5 keys to succeed in scaling the business whilst meeting the FC performance commitments made on behalf of Amazon customers: (1) work hard and smart to strengthen standardization and best practice sharing, (2) develop local process improvement leaders as multipliers, (3) enhance improvement methods and process skills, (4) establish focus and prioritization for our business efforts and (5) adopt mechanisms generating a shopfloor culture of continuous root cause elimination.
Responsibilities:
- Coordination and prioritization of business efforts: Own facilitation of the local LSC (Leadership Steering Committee) to agree, prioritize, plan, coordinate and follow up on all process improvement activities. Ensure focus on key customer metrics (safety, customer experience, quality and productivity to drive the best customer experience at the lowest cost. Actively support the creation of the annual improvement plan (OP2).
- Kaizen and projects: Own local Kaizen activity, specifically achieving the targeted benefits as part of the ACES metrics in alignment with the FC business goals.
- Software team projects and rollouts: Support new software and correspondent process rollouts compatible to EU standards and in close teamwork with the EU Process Owners.
- Standardization and best practice sharing: Support the EU standardization mechanism using the EU-developed standard FC (SFC) model by driving implementations in compliance with new standards. Actively share best practices and ensure ongoing communication with EU Process Owners to avoid duplicate efforts. Audit standards.
- Structured ACES projects and pilots: Plan and drive selected pilots including participants from other FCs to establish and document new EU standards.
- 5S workplace organization and Lean activities: Own the local implementation of 5S through achieving a targeted departmental 5S score as part of the 5S metrics and through creation of shop-floor owners of continuous improvement.
- Standard Work and Daily Kai-Zen activities: drive implementation and own mechanisms generating a culture of continuous root cause elimination on the shop floor. This includes Standard Work, 5S, Daily Kaizen, associate suggestions, Kaizen celebrations, etc.
- Communication liaison between FC and EU: drive leverage of cross-FC process excellence and by building and maintaining a close relationship with EU Process Owners and FC Process Engineers across Europe. Manage and share the FC improvement plan on EU ACES level.
- FC process support activities: Support FC process expansions and new platform initiatives (NPI), providing process expertise in one or more process areas as a subject matter expert (SME) locally and across FCs. Provide hands-on FC operations support on demand, including key operational tasks like leading shifts during the Q4 peak season.
- Improvement methods: provide and train improvement methods and tools for FC management and associates. This includes 6-step Kaizen, Six Sigma DMAIC, A3 Problem Solving, Standard Work mechanisms, the LSC, standardization and best practice sharing tools (5S, Xs and Ys, etc.).
- Enhance process skills: identify key needs for process knowledge and provide trainings in areas of your process expertise as well as through subject matter experts and EU Process Owners. Build local infrastructure of process expertise across shop floor and management levels.
- Highly motivated, customer-obsessed, flexible to deal with constantly changing demands to drive improvements on behalf of Amazon customers in a fast-paced production environment.
- Experience in a quantitative role: Industrial Engineering, Business Process Re-Engineering, Quality, Operations or Logistics with the ability to analyze complex processes whilst simplifying.
- Practical LeanSixSigma methodologies experience. Has trained teams, led Kaizen and projects and delivered results through implementation of changes
- Demonstrate a strong track record of team leadership within a large-scale, rapid and process-driven environment, whilst also being able to handle multiple projects.
- Demonstrate a strong track record of problem solving and very strong analytical skill capability as he/she will be required to look at and find solutions for a variety of operations problems. Good, timely decisions will need to be made on a regular basis. There is rarely time for a committee decision; the individual will have to be prepared to take on responsibility for his/her actions from day one.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Able to train.
- Able to dive deep and analyze whilst following the metrics driven priorities
- Able to motivate, lead, speak to and listen to Associates as well as to the Senior Management
