Continuous Process Improvement Analyst, SeniorThe department mission is to execute a system of business practices to conduct strategic planning and identify budget (capacity resources) required to meet product demand. The department drives deployment of business plans targeted to meet strategic objectives and product campaign execution from seed to release of bulk drug substance, including maintaining the 18 month plan in the ERP system to drive direct material requirements so to provide adequate supply of materials to make medicine per plan.
The continuous improvement team leads customer focused strategic and tactical improvements to increase value of existing assets and resources by applying Operational Excellence principles and concepts.
Position SummaryThe Senior Continuous Process Improvement Analyst is responsible for leading change and engaging people in making improvements that support site objectives resulting in quantifiable improvements to safety, quality, delivery and cost. The Senior Continuous Process Improvement Analyst will communicate and execute improvement plans while coaching people and embedding Lean practices to achieve our product quality, supply goals and significant business objectives.

Core Responsibilities
Facilitate cross-functional teams to drive improvements with quantifiable results at the production floor level through the value stream level.
Lead and manage a variety of Kaizens, and other improvement activities which are aimed at removing non-value added activities and standardizing work to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost.
Conducts industrial engineering studies to quantify lead times, resource requirements, and improvement opportunities
Communicate teams' progress to stakeholders, management and unit leaders.
Create and maintain communication materials, A3s, charters, report-outs, graphical display of metrics, etc, to communicate progress and results to all levels of the organization
Coach others on process improvement philosophy and application.
Participate in efforts to implement ongoing process management mechanisms locally (e.g. process mapping, documentation, metrics, monitoring systems and process control techniques).
Coach to kaizen team members to give them the confidence and commitment to execute sustainable continuous improvement in the organization.
Collaborate with the Genzyme Global Operational Excellence (GOE) Office to share examples of local best practices.
Interact with external bodies to broaden knowledge base and understanding of best practice, facilitating transfer of knowledge in-house.
Provide communications updates on current activities to promote culture change and recognition of Kaizen teams.
Work independently under general supervision and direction.
Build strong and positive working relationships with people driving daily execution to lead and work effectively in a lean environment fostering commitment and sustainable continuous improvement in the organization

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or Operations and a minimum of 5 years' experience in Engineering, Operations, or Operations Management roles (Biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience preferred). 3 - 5 years hands on experience in an industrial shop floor environment. Demonstrated experience leading and implementing Lean/Operational Excellence activities including Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen. Demonstrated aptitude for innovation and creativity. Strong project and process management skills. Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining strong relationships at all levels. Hands-on application of Lean concepts (5S, TPM, SMED, and Poka-Yoke for process ranging from shop-floor to back-office) in industry with accountability for results. Practical use of problem solving and quality tools such as SPC, Fishbone, and 5 Whys.
High proficiency with MS Office Excel and Visio tools
Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering. 3-5 years' experience in a shop floor Industrial Engineering position. Master's degree in Science or MBA in Operations.
