Contract
We are looking for an experienced, detail oriented NAS storage and backup analyst. The position will report to Supervisor of Infrastructure. This position will have a primary concern with Calgary storage systems, but will work with both a local and global teams of storage analysts responsible for a complex worldwide leveraged NAS infrastructure measured in PetaBytes of storage.
Responsibilities may include:
Day to day operations of NetApp storage systems, DataDomain storage systems and NetBackup systems in Calgary. Working with the Global Storage Team for any patching, installation, and decommissioning.
Additional responsibilities include supporting disaster recovery solutions along with data protection.
Specific technology responsibilities include:
oNetApp, DataDomain and NetBackup. Managing these environments includes items such as hardware and software configuration, provisioning of storage, monitoring and reporting.
oSupported connected host environments include Windows and VMWare.
oSpecial attention to availability, reliability, compliance and security are key.
oWill need to work independently at times while working in a team environment.
Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor' Degree in Information Technology or Computer Sciences or IT related field.
Must have 2+ years of combined Information Technology experience directly supporting Windows Servers or Storage Systems.
Knowledge of complex NAS based storage systems.
Direct experience with NetApp, DataDomain, and NetBackup. Especially enterprise level systems.
Moderate Unix / Linux skills with NFS experience.
Moderate Windows skills with CIFS (SMB) experience.
Experience in a large corporate environment, following and implementing disciplined processes.
Good analytical and diagnostic skills.
Good communications skills.
Ability to travel 10%.
