Contract Analyst
Key Job Description: Physical Oil Contracts
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring all contractual terms matched the trading system
- Preparation of sale contracts and dealing with countering of contracts to conclusion
- Reviewing purchase contracts and negotiating the contract terms with suppliers
- Chasing counterparties if purchase contract not received
- Advising other commercial teams on contractual and paralegal matters
- Tracking and logging of contracts and all related correspondence and emails (Computer filing and trading system updating)
- Reporting contract status on a daily basis
- Document retention (filing- audit trail)
- Planning and organizational skills required
- Teamwork skills with preference for action, accountability and developing alternatives and solutions
- Strong desire for personal learning and sharing of knowledge and skills with othersImproving processes and procedures
Education, experience, skills:
Education and Qualifications
- Suitable candidates must be educated to at least degree level or possess an equivalent level qualification
- It would be beneficial if candidates have a formal contract qualification, perhaps having studied a law degree/legal qualification
Experience
- Contract experience preferred but not essential
- Knowledge of INCOTERMS and legal clauses affecting the contract
- Sound experience of contracts within the Oil Industry, established knowledge of Oil Contract administration.
Skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills required
- Excellent communication (written and spoken)
- Teamwork skills with preference for action, accountability and developing alternatives and solutions
- Good negotiation skills
- Great attention to detail
- Strong desire for personal learning and sharing of knowledge with others
- Must be proficient in Microsoft packages and generally IT literate
- Excellent at improving processes and procedures
