Contract BA PC recruitment

PURPOSE

The purpose of this role is to develop the definition and maintenance of Product Control related business processes throughout Europe; ensuring that key processes are documented, controlled, repeatable and understood.

From this, the role will be integral in identifying opportunities for improving these processes; whilst acting as the centralised point of contact, being able to coordinate the assessment the impact of changes (whether driven by business, technology or other functions) and ensuring the subsequent smooth implementation of these changes.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES  

Define and create a framework of clear and concise documentation covering: processes, procedures, sign-off and exceptions; roles and responsibilities; system and data flows; reporting requirements.

Responsible for developing recommendations for the future business process and procedures for Product Control, and be involved in the approval of these processes from the Front Office, Middle Office and other supporting functions

Work with project management to change business processes and systems – e.g. writing specifications, system testing, organising UAT, dealing with change requests etc

Recommend change to business process and procedures

Position’s scope covers the bank’s markets in Europe

KEY RELATIONSHIPS

Establish strong working relationships with key business and technical personnel in the following functional areas, Operations, Product Control, Financial Control, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Technology, and Application Support

EDUCATION /OR EXPERIENCE Required

Finance/accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

Atleast 2 years of product control experience

PnL decompostion or attribution experience

Business knowledge within at least 3 of the following asset classes: Interest Rate Derivative, Fixed Income, Credit Derivative, FX, MM/Repo

Knowledge of accounting policies/standards covering derivatives (IAS, IFRS, FASB)

The following are required for Interest Rate Derivative, Fixed Income and Credit Derivative asset classes:

In-depth understanding of the trade life cycle

In-depth understanding of middle office processes and the infrastructure that supports them: Valuation, PL  production and decomposition, Market Risk, IPV, and reporting

In-depth understanding of finance and accounting processes and the infrastructure that supports them: ledger/sub-ledger, account postings, reconciliation, reserves/pricing adjustments and reporting
