Job Description: Microsoft SQL Database Administrator/Developer, The client has an contract position opening for a talented SQL DBA/ Developer to work with Network Operations on requirements, design, development, and implementation of a database integration between a large ERP package and license management package. This includes working with the IT manager on database schema and queries; installing, configuring, and implementing on MS SQL environments as appropriate. This person will have deep experience in working with large-scale databases in support of a high-traffic, low latency applications. This person is also responsible for thoroughly documenting the appropriate procedures for all internal customer groups that actively utilize MS SQL. Position responsibilities include: Responsible for design, development, and installation of stored procedures and triggers to support movement of a defined set of data from a SQL 2000 environment to a SQL 2008 environment. Also will be responsible for thoroughly documenting all activities and the architecture of the procedures and triggers. Qualifications: BS degree (or equivalent work experience or specialized training) in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science (CS), or related discipline Minimum of 5+ years of work experience as a Microsoft SQL Server Database Developer (Schema, Stored Procedures, Triggers, SQL Jobs) Must understand cross server query concepts. Solid skills in database performance factors, monitoring tools and tuning procedures Strong skills in maintenance tools and procedures Experience developing database solutions using Microsoft SQL Server 2000, 2005, and 2008 Experience designing and programming complex stored procedures, views, data aggregation/manipulation through table joins/queries Experience designing and implementing large-scale database solutions that are reliable, scalable, and perform at a high level Database and index tuning experience required. Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong interpersonal skills Ability to work independently as a self-starter and within a team environment, with dedication to follow through until objectives are met MS SQL Certification is a plus Experience with Sage MAS 500 databases is a plus Experience with Flexera Flexnet Databases is a p We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
