Contract Design Engineer ( 6 months) Job in Cwmbran, Wales UK
Overview
Reporting to a Lead Engineer you are responsible for design and/or development work on current future brake products in accordance with specifications and timings agreed with the relevant Lead Engineer and Project Manager.
Principal Accountabilities
- Ensuring design work is completed to meet agreed project schedules
- Creation of 3D CAD component assembly models
- Creation of 2D CAD component assembly drawings
- Deliver robust, cost effective solutions
- Undertake supporting design activities, incl. FMEAs, calculations tolerance layouts
- Participate in project technical design reviews (if required)
Education and Experience
- Mechanical Engineering Degree, HND or equivalent
- Have a minimum of five years automotive design / development experience
- Have a working knowledge of CAD (Pro-Engineer Wildfire 2 Windchill)
- Understand common automotive manufacturing methods processes
- Understand materials stress/strain theory
- Experience of Finite Element Analysis (Pro-Mechanica or Ansys) would be an advantage
