Our client’s business is at the very heart of the London banking community and is a stable member and well regarded institution within city finance circles. Our clients IT systems help support the trading of items such as derivative swaps and fixed income products. As a highly trusted supplier (just two tier one preferred recruitment partners for IT), we have been asked to identify a Contract Java Developer to join the team in London for 12 months initially
This role (Java Developer) is to join a team responsible for the reporting, data and analytic tools and services for our client’s flagship service offering. A core component providing margin simulation services for Interest Rate Swap trade portfolios. It’s an award winning application consisting of a core analytic library, a member/client API and a front-end GUI. The toolset is being licensed to other parties for integration to other risk and trade processing platforms.
Requirements:-
Extensive experience as a Java Developer specifically within the investment banking domain.
Multi-threaded development techniques.
Knowledge of the derivative business area. (*Used to the challenges of computing VaR and trade level NPV).
Swaps / Interest rate derivatives experience ideally.
SQL
Oracle
Investment banking
The role holder will be required to turn around enhancements and hot fixed quickly. The role will involve new development and integration of core technology. Individuals with the ability to handle intense situations required.
