Contracts Specialist is responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts while ensuring compliance with Jabil policy for a specific department or functional area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct contract negotiations, ensuring objectives are clearly understood and met, and represent the best position for Jabil taking into account, e.g., financial risk/reward, performance and business goals.
• Follow established contract practices and internal procedures in review and revision of contract terms and conditions.
• Identify, communicate and revise terms to mitigate risks in contract terms and conditions;
• Work with Director, Global Contracts Management and/or attorneys to resolve problems relating to contract terms and/or schedules
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and maintain positive interactions, including responsive communications, in all internal and external business relationships.
• Develop best practices and develop and maintain contract databases.
• Support, draft, review and negotiate, contracts under Legal’s review, including, without limitation, domestic and international agreements, NDAs, subcontractor agreements, manufacturing services agreements, and other commercial agreements with customers and suppliers.
• Support attorneys in providing contract negotiation guidance and support to various business teams and advise on the risks and legal implications of the contract.
• Communicate effectively with Legal management throughout the contract negotiation process to escalate issues and to secure necessary approvals with respect to non-standard terms and conditions outside of defined Jabil policy guidelines.
• Coordinate with Director, Global Contracts Management and/or attorneys to make decisions pertaining to contract terms and conditions and deviations that require escalation to senior/executive management and Jabil Corporate Legal for review and approval.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of contracts, policies and procedures, business and government regulatory principles and procedures.
• Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil’s software packages.
• Strong knowledge of global and regional manufacturing and supply chain operations and industry.
• Strong and convincing communication skills.
• Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required.

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Three (3) to five (5) years work-related experience required; preferably experience in negotiation of large contracts.
• Or a combination of education, experience and/or training.
