The Control Environment Manager, is responsible for the assurance of the GCOO Control Environment, ensuring that the assigned control environment is designed effectively and is operating effectively
In this role, you will be providing routine assurance and remediation services to customers, through periodic assurance programs. This will include system performance, capacity management, systems and data security across the Fraud Operations business unit. You will also be liaising with operational risk and other principle risk representatives to ensure compliance to frameworks and reporting.
Working with the Design Team, you will drive projects and changes to the Control Environment that improves the effectiveness and efficiency of Controls. You will also provide support to the Senior Control Environment Manager to deliver reporting for Customers. This reporting in effect will combine all Governance and Control information and providing a customer centric view of the Control environment, meeting customer needs. Finally, you will support the Design team in the development of Controls and associated assurance activity for projects delivering change to the Control Environment.
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following:
- A knowledge of Fraud Operations in financial service environment
- Proven ability to support effective strategies that balance short-term requirements with long-term perspectives and business plans and expectations
- Able to apply broad knowledge and reasoned experience when addressing complex issues and communicate a range of potential solutions in straightforward terms to employees at all levels in the organisation
- Develop a thorough understanding of customers businesses; is able to identify trends, anticipate potential requirements
- Apply full range of internal and external knowledge and experience when assessing customer needs/solutions whilst working to achieve what is best for all stakeholders.
- Competent working with both operational and technical controls
- Lead by example with the proven ability to create a climate that fosters a high performance and proactive culture
- Proven ability to cultivate a network of contacts throughout an organisation
- Identifies and addresses inefficiencies in systems , processes and controls escalating where appropriate
- Proactively establishes and enforces controls that balance risk and opportunity.
- Able to clearly define strategic issues in a fast-changing environment and effectively manage areas of ambiguity
- Proven ability to generate new and creative ideas whilst promoting and sharing innovative practices throughout the organisation
- A thorough understanding of technology, integrating in to overall business strategies and solutions where appropriate
